MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit

Forecaster summary - Issued 2020-11-27T00:11:04

The high energy electron flux (greater than 2 MeV) is expected to be at moderate to high levels for most of the period, with peaks above high during the diurnal cycles. This is due to the combination of a weak high speed steam from CH98, and because no significant geomagnetic activity is expected, which would have sharply reduced the electron count.

Electron fluence values may increase above the Active (1e8 integrated pfu) from day 3 (29th). REFM is forecasting the fluence to remain below the Active threshold, but is currently under-forecasting the fluence levels, so breaching the 1e8 integrated pfu threshold remains a possibility.
