MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit

Forecaster summary - Issued 2019-09-06T00:15:22

The high energy electron flux (greater than 2MeV) is currently at high levels. In the absence of any further significant geomagnetic activity, after the earlier G1/Minor geomagnetic storm rapidly decreased the flux levels, levels are expected to diurnally fluctuate between moderate and high level throughout the forecast period.

The corresponding 24-hour fluence value is expected to show a gradual declining trend, after the recent sharp decline due to the earlier geomagnetic activity. Despite the gradual declining trend the high energy electron fluence is expected to remain above the Active threshold throughout the period, with a chance of temporarily returning to Very Active levels.
