MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit
Forecaster summary - Issued 2019-04-06T00:11:29
The high energy (greater than 2MeV) electron flux at GEO is High, and its associated fluence is currently at Moderate levels. The high energy electron flux is likely to be at predominantly high through the period due to elevated solar winds and geomagnetic storms unlikely. The associated fluence (greater than 2 MeV) is expected to remain Moderate to High (1e8 - 9e8) for much of the period, with a chance of exceeding the Very High (1e9) threshold days 2-4 (7th-9th Apr).
However, confidence is low, due to the poor guidance currently provided by persistence. This is because the coronal holes are new, or more substantial compared to the previous rotation. REFM appears to be signaling a slowly increasing trend over the next couple of days.
