MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit
Forecaster summary - Issued 2018-08-30T00:12:53
The high electron flux (greater than 2 MeV) is expected to continue at High or Very High levels through the forecast period, especially at the maximum of the diurnal cycle. The corresponding 24-hour electron fluence will start above the Very High threshold (1e9 integrated pfu). The sharp fall in the 24-hour fluence shown tomorrow (31st Aug) on the REFM model is unlikely to occur, with a much more gradual decline expected, and the fluence slowly decreasing to High levels from tomorrow or day 3 onwards.
