MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit

Forecaster summary - Issued 2020-08-07T00:05:40

The high energy electron flux (greater than 2 MeV) reached high levels (above 1000 pfu) through the diurnal cycle over the past two days, although with peak values decreasing from 2540 to 1970 pfu. High levels again expected on day 1 (7th), but the decreasing trend is expected to continue through this forecast period.

24 hour fluence values reached active levels on 6th, and this is expected again on day 1, although again with a decreasing trend likely thereafter as electron counts slowly fall. REFM data is of limited value at present, as are 27-day recurrence values, as the solar wind speed was much stronger this time than on the previous rotation.
