MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit
Forecaster summary - Issued 2019-07-24T00:02:21
The high energy (great than 2MeV) electron flux in the Van Allen belts is currently at very low background. With no significant coronal holes in sight and therefore no sources of enhanced electron counts expected to move across the Earth, these conditions are likely to persist during much of the forecast period. Coronal hole 43 may enhance the electron population at the end of day 1 (24th), increasing slightly the associated 24 hour electron fluence over the following days although it is most likely to remain below the Active threshold, in line with the REFM.
