MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit
Forecaster summary - Issued 2019-02-09T12:19:29
The high energy (greater than 2MeV) electron flux is currently varying between moderate and high levels, with the associated electron fluence just below the Active threshold. With the Earth currently with the fast wind, likely from coronal hole 73, and albeit only slightly enhanced, further slight charging of the Van Allen belts is expected during day 1 and into day 2. Active fluence levels are then expected for a time, before flux levels see a declining trend into day 3. Fluence levels are then expected to decrease, as supported by REFM, with the chances of ongoing Active levels fading.
