MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit
Forecaster summary - Issued 2018-04-26T00:02:01
In the last 24 hours, the high energy electron flux fell below high levels (above 1000pfu) for the first time since 21st April. The corresponding 24-hour electron fluence has similarly been above the Active threshold (1e8 integrated pfu) since 21st April, and at present remains above this threshold, though is now showing a moderate rate of decline.
With a weak high speed stream expected over the next 4 days, electron flux levels are likely to be at mainly moderate to high levels throughout the forecast period, perhaps with some occasional reductions in response to any enhanced geomagnetic activity. The corresponding fluence is expected to continue to decline, most likely dropping below the Active threshold (1e8 integrated pfu) during tomorrow (27th).
