MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit
Forecaster summary - Issued 2021-03-22T00:29:12
The high energy electron flux (greater than 2 MeV) is expected to increase to High levels during day 1 in response to the high speed stream from CH34/-. It is then likely to remain High for much of the period, but possibly dropping to moderate levels during diurnal minimums.
The corresponding 24-hour electron fluence is therefore expected to rise above the Active threshold (1e8 integrated pfu), later on day 1. It is then expected to remain above the Active threshold for the remainder of the period, and there is a chance it may exceed the Very Active threshold (1e9 integrated pfu). REFM is considered to be offering good guidance.
