MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit
Forecaster summary - Issued 2018-06-29T00:11:35
The high energy electron flux (greater than 2MeV) at GEO is expected to remain at moderate to high levels through the forecast period, in response to elevated solar winds. Any brief falls in values are possible due to diurnal variations or enhanced geomagnetic activity.
The corresponding 24-hour electron fluence is expected continue at high levels (1e8 integrated pfu) throughout the period. Although the REFM model is producing good guidance in that levels will continue to rise, the forecast levels from tomorrow onwards are considered too high, with only a chance of reaching Very High levels being more reasonable.
