GIOVE-A Summary

GIOVE-A is in circular orbit at 23,222 km altitude with an inclination of 56°. It is one of the test satellites of the Galileo radio-navigation system - the European equivalent of GPS. GIOVE-A passes through the heart of the outer radiation belt where the electron flux is most intense.
