MOSWOC high energy electron forecast for geostationary orbit
Forecaster summary - Issued 2023-04-08T00:08:54
High energy electron flux (greater than 2 MeV) is forecast to continue to diurnally oscillate between Background and Moderate or perhaps briefly High levels through much of the forecast period. Any connection to the HSS of CH91/+ into Day 3 or 4 (10-11 Apr) is likely to see electron counts fall, owing to increased Geomagnetic activity and suppression of the Van Allen electron belts.
Electron fluence has recently fallen below the Active threshold, and is expected to remain below though the period as the electron belts assume a more steady state, with the MOSWOC REFM model viewed as generally good guidance.
